Re: World championships coverage
ESPN will provide a "global media platform.....that has never existed before". 60 televised games seems like an astounding amount of coverage for lacrosse. Yet, it will be up to the various media companies around the world to pick up the coverage. With England playing in the Blue Division,...

World championships coverage
60 games to be televised on ESPN. Great coverage and hopefully that exposure will help grow the game somewhat.

Re: Should we move SEMLA to the Summer?
Perhaps you can help educate this Yank, although some might say why bother trying, you'd be wasting your time. Regardless, I'll push on. A couple of the cons to the idea have been lack of access to the pitch and also weddings, more family stuff, holidays etc, going on in the summer. From an outsider...

Re: Wrestling dropped from Olympics
Thanks for the information. I am not naive to the fact that I'm sure the inclusion process is a laborious one. Perhaps my wording seems a bit harsh at this juncture and should be held until a later time a few years from now if the landscape is the same. I also understand that sports like squash have...

Re: Cross Checks, Abuse, Slashes & Trips
The lack of calling some fouls has become deplorable in the NCAA and imo has an affect on kids you may be trying to teach or coach. Youth and high school games are often called much closer, at least in my part of the states, but when kids watch college games and see some of the same penalties they w...

Re: 2012 NCAA Coverage
I was at the Army v Air Force game in Houston last Saturday. I thought it would be Army by about 6 after they nearly beat Syracuse (1 goal loss) a couple weeks ago. However, somebody forgot to tell AF they were the underdog. AF scored with 6 seconds left in regulation to tie it then they won the ens...

Re: God Bless Texas
Not sure it was a Texan that first used the phrase "I'll give you my gun when you pry it from my cold, dead hands" but pretty much symbolizes the mentality for many in the state. Charleton Heston giving a speech to the National Rifle Association by closing with the abbreviated phrase. http...

Sowell did a great job with that program, it'll be interesting to see how they do under Nagle.

Good luck to everyone. I'm sure those selected for the final roster will acquit themselves quite well in Amsterdam.

And unlike Woods who often seemed brusque and curt after losing, the kid showed class and character after imploding at the Masters.
Good for him, well done!

Re: MCLA vs NCAA Divs
Probably just a typo on your part but the University of Michigan lacrosse program is going from the MCLA to the NCAA, not MSU. Unless you were thinking of Michigan State's coach, as he did leave to start up the program at Detroit Mercy a few years ago when that school added a NCAA DI lax program. Re...

Ok, I'll get it started. IMO, Wales takes the title this year after losing a close one last year.

Re: Michigan to go NCAA Div I Lacrosse
Who was the 1?! If memory serves, they lost a road game to Colorado last year by 2 or 3 goals. IL always blares these headlines to grab attention. This is nothing new as stories/rumors about a possible jump have been around for awhile. Perhaps it will happen but I doubt they'll make a transition th...
