Re: England Squad
These comments are all very well, but I'd appreciate if you all stop undermining my barely-cobbled-together thoughts with well-researched information.

Re: England Squad
I would not worry about the LDO game who knows what squad went ect(although they should really have beaten them) I am surprised by the latest cut and the number of overseas players still in (and the lack of official announcement of the cut) It appears we have cut only UK players who have put in the...

Some proper 'oi oi Banter' names in there. Hope there will be the fluorescent kits and '69 Legend' squad numbers to match.

Re: England Squad
I think what you are doing here is confusing guesswork with actual facts to try and make a point. How can you possibly comment on England's increased/decreased dependency on US/Canadian based players before the final cut? The coaching staff are giving themselves the opportunity to look at every avai...

Re: League Format / Fixtures / International Breaks
Thought that might be the case. So theoretically a team could finish 5th with more points than the team who finished 4th?

Re: League Format / Fixtures / International Breaks
Just thought of a scenario. Can this happen? 8-team league finishes as follows (say): Team 1 loads pts Team 2 loads pts Team 3 loads pts Team 4 6pts Team 5 5pts Team 6 5pts Team 7 5pts Team 8 2pts Team 4 then play the four-team mini league and get pumped by better opposition (Teams 1, 2 & 3) eve...

More the way in which it has been communicated to the England fans: ECB Managing Director, Paul Downton: "The time is right to rebuild not only the team but also the team ethic." "Everyone was aware that there was a need to begin the long-term planning after the Australia tour. Theref...

Re: Phil Jackson NBA
Coaching Philosophy is it more about sharing information to help improve a players performance or about showing that you care for the individuals development? Head vs Heart Surely some measure of both - hard to define percentage for each. Alex Ferguson has always had a decent right hand man to do t...

Re: 2-Man Game
Thanks TW19! The 2-4-0 does sound attractive but it puts a lot of pressure on our covering middies (Matt Collier) in the event of a misplaced pass or goalie save. A team with fast midfielders like Timperley or (traditionally) Mersey would tear us apart on the break. We have had similar problems with...

Re: North vs South
Further to above, and I'm thinking on my feet a bit now, the benefits of 3G/4G turf are obvious to people who use it on a day-to-day level; but could this be the saviour of British team ball sports? Football - my generation (30+), as a kids we were taught to hoof it up field at first opportunity. Sk...

Re: North vs South
Historically, you can't rule out climatic influences. Easier to play out all year round when it's not belting it down with rain/snow or blowing a hooley. Perhaps advances in strength and conditioning science (across the world) are contributing to the gap between North and South narrowing - i.e. less...

Re: downturn in number of posts
My opinion is that Forums are now effectively pushed to one side by newer, shinier means of communication and social media outlets. Everything has a shelf life and maybe forums, in general, have had their day.
