had a bunch of people asking me what time does it start, but i dunno myself.

i know im leaving swansea at 8am and thats it:P

but some of our players are at home and meeting us there

so what time does it start etc...

Brum has entered the Northern League and is a developing city side , so you have a pretty good choice

It would not be very good practice if the Refs Association organised an event to clash with one on the official ELA Special Events Calendar, in fact after their actions caused the cancellation of last years event it would start to look deliberate.... I am sure that is not the case though!

All teams have been asked to provide a ref, I am sure we will manage, better with the help if the independent refs association, but if we have to, without!

its cloudy but dry in bristol, so unless a bath guy can gets us the EXACT weather, this is the closet you're gonna get!

If you arrange it around salou and dublin then i'm sure some more of the uni teams would be interested. Warwick should be able to stick up a team or two.

Funny, when Bear Stearns collapsed, a major question would be what would happen to their lacrosse team.

Lehman, if they exist next season...

I doubt that you could get a team out of just one bank, but you could definitely get a good team from the investment banking industry in London (Hampstead...).

Just a quick reminder before the season starts...

If you are wearing a brace or retainer you are not exempt from wearing a mouthguard, despite what people may say. If you do not have a moutguard you will not be allowed to play.

Just wanted to say that to ease my conscience as I always hate bannishing people to the sidelines when they genuinely thought they didn't need to wear one.

I empathise with both what Don and John are saying in this thread with particular regard to the ball crossing the goal line.

In an ideal world we would have 4 qualified referees officiating every game and a ref on the goal line every time. Unfortunately that just isn't going to happen nor does it need to except for the "crunch" games in the top division.

Ultimately this all boils down to a judgement call by the refs. A prudent referee will be on the goal line every time to ensure any doubt on the decision is minimised. However, the final decision rests with the referee wherever he is stood on the field and the referee is always right isn't he?
